Chief Executive Officer
Swisher Memorial Healthcare System, a 20 bed inpatient facility in Tulia Texas, seeks an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Senior leadership experience in healthcare is a must; preferably in a critical access setting.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the daily overall operation of Swisher Memorial Hospital (SMH) including the implementation of growth and retention strategies, assuring financial stability, recruiting and retaining key staff and the development and implementation of new processes necessary for the successful attainment of the hospital's mission. The CEO will work with the Board of Directors to attain the short and long-term goals of the organization. Collaboration with physician leaders, operations and finance leaders and the Board of Directors is vital to ensure the hospitals' mission, vision and values are carried out day to day.

In this position the CEO will:
-- Represent Swisher Memorial Hospital to the
public, health care organizations, professional
associations, governmental agencies, etc.
-- Evaluate business opportunities, monitor national
and local trends and maintain contacts in the
community and with other healthcare providers to
build innovative partnerships and programs that
deliver the value of healthcare in new ways.
-- Direct the strategic planning process, both short
and long-term and ensure the achievement of the
strategic goals and objectives.
-- Determine and implement the organizational
structure of SMH in a manner that is cost
effective and maximizes the use of services and
-- Work with managerial staff to develop and
implement policies and procedures. Provide the
direction and necessary resources for managerial
staff to develop plans for the achievement of
short and long-range goals and objectives.
-- Prepare and maintain reports for the Board of
Directors that reflect the progress and success
of the hospital.
-- Maintain effective working relationships with the
medical staff, legal counsel, regulatory
agencies, Board of Directors and managerial
-- Manage relationships with any 3rd party vendors
and/or 3rd party administrators and customers
including employers, State Government/Medicaid,
consumers, and healthcare plans.
-- Maintain an awareness of changes in healthcare
matters and critical access hospitals that could
have an impact on the success of the
-- Perform other related administrative/managerial
duties as directed and or required.

Required qualifications include:
-- Masters in Healthcare Administration or Masters
in Business Administration
-- 5 years of leadership experience in a direct
health care environment
-- Ability to develop and implement complex
programs, technical systems and policies that
affect the overall direction of SMH
-- Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary
teams toward a shared vision
-- Possess good decision-making skills based upon a
mixture of wisdom, experience, and judgment
-- Outstanding team and meeting facilitation skills
including planning, design and execution.
Establishing strong team relationships, building
trust, and open communication.
-- Strong focused written and verbal communication
responsive to the needs of the patients and
-- Strong team player with the ability to work
effectively and efficiently with leadership of
the organization at multiple levels in a credible
and professional manner.
