Bilingual Patient Advocate - Business Office
Swisher Memorial Healthcare System is looking for a PRN Patient Advocate.

The purpose of a Patient Advocate is to connect uninsured and underinsured patients to programs that will cover their medical expenses such as Medicaid, Social Security, Disability, Charity or Indigent Assistance and other state and local county programs. Working as the liaison between the patient in need, the hospital facility and government or other agencies.

Essential duties and responsibilities: screen uninsured patients in an effort to determine if patient is a viable candidate for federal, state, and/or county medical assistance, complete the appropriate applications and follow through, collaborate with hospital staff, answer incoming calls, make out-bound calls, track all paperwork necessary to submit enrollment or renewal, participate in additional training requirements in an effort to stay abreast of the ever changing rules and regulations associated with the various governmental programs and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent
Bilingual a must
Ability to communicate with staff and public in a courteous manner
Highest level of confidentiality
